ÞÝÐ is a string trio piece commissioned by the Icelandic chamber group Nordic Affect. First premiered at Roni Horn's Library of Water in May 2014, alongside works by Valgeir Sigurðsson and Hlynur Aðils Vilmarsson.
The pieces where recorded at Greenhouse Studios, and released on Sono luminus in February 2017, with additional electronic pieces by each composer. Úlfur's Skin Continuum features bay area percussionist and composer Nava Dunkelman on Uchiwa Taiko drums, accompanied by custom electronic music software written by Úlfur.
The journey begins and ends with a sonic reminder that everything is connected. - WQXR
